Peter Galison is the Joseph Pellegrino University Professor at Harvard University. In 1997, he was awarded a John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation Fellowship; in 1998, the Pfizer Award for *Image and Logic* (1997); in 1999, the Max Planck and Humboldt Stiftung Prize; and in 2018, the Abraham Pais Award. His work includes *How Experiments End* (1987), *Einstein’s Clocks, Poincaré’s Maps* (2003), and, with L. Daston, *Objectivity* (2007). In the Event Horizon Telescope Collaboration, he worked in the imaging group to make the first black hole picture (2019). For this, he shared with the EHTC the Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics, the Einstein Medal, and the Royal Astronomical Society Group Achievement Award. During this imaging campaign, he produced and directed his most recent feature documentary, *Black Holes |The Edge of All We Know* (Netflix, 2020). He is Science Teams Lead of the Black Hole Explorer (BHEX) and Director and Co-founder of the Black Hole Initiative.
