Location:

CHSI Special Exhibitions, Science Center 251

Radio Contact CardLong before the Internet and television, radio was the medium that informed, entertained, and connected people across cultures and geographic divides. Families gathered together around the living room radio and listened to Franklin Roosevelt’s “fireside chats” and detective dramas like The Shadow. Showcasing extensive radio equipment from the Collection of Historical Scientific Instruments, the exhibition examines the evolving technology and cultures of listening, tinkering, and broadcasting. Come and tune in to a radio culture and history that is still vibrant and yet being redefined on the Internet.
